Q&A with George Gstar
George Gstar has developed a reputation as a social media influencer and successful entrepreneur worth more than a hundred million dollars. He’s amassed a self-made fortune through his businesses in the real estate, trucking, logistics, recycling, marketing, entertainment, personal lending, and CBD industries. Now, he’s gearing up for his next big project: entering the rap industry. We caught up with George to ask him more about his life and his new music, including his new single, “Dark World.”
Q — Tell us how you got a record deal.
A — I was making a name for myself in the SoundCloud rap scene, so the record labels had to take notice. Money talks, and with all my social media followers waiting to buy my music, it was a natural fit for me to get signed. The fact that I had connections to Tr3way Entertainment and BMF probably helped, too.
Q — When can we expect to hear your music?
A — You can expect to hear my new music and see my new music video around late 2021 or early 2022.
Q — Who were some of your influences? What kind of music and artists did you listen to growing up?
A — My music is influenced by artists like XXXTentacion. I really dig the emotional, melodic sound he brought to hip-hop. It was sort of influenced by alternative emo rock, which I liked listening to when I was growing up. I was also influenced by a lot of real rockstars like Tommy Lee, Kurt Cobain and Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Oleander, and The Smashing Pumpkins. I felt much connection in the pain of their music to my life.
Q — As a social media influencer, what tips do you have for growing your followers?
A — Do what you love and don’t worry about pleasing others. Please yourself. It’s your page. Run it how you would run your life because the best advice is your own advice. Most importantly, have passion. Without it, nothing will work, and it will show on your page. If you’re passionate about it, your followers will recognize that. Seeing someone who’s passionate about life is what attracts people to personalities on social media.
Q- As an entrepreneur, what tips do you have to become a successful entrepreneur?
A — Never accept mediocre. Never accept average. Once you accept average, your life will follow average trend lines.
Q- Tell us some mistakes you have learned from in entrepreneurship.
A — Jumping in too quick. A lot of people think it’s good to flip money right away. I learned to be strategic. Strategy is the art of war. Never play checkers, only chess.
